Michelle Gardiner
Singing from a young age, Michelle grew up being exposed to the classic country music her parents listened to (specifically Patsy Cline, Marty Robbins, Merle Haggard, etc) and has since developed a style of her own which is quite laid-back, soulful and somehow always “a little bit country”. Early on, talent quests were a frequent event for her, competing against the likes of Anthony Callea and Vanessa Amorossi at venues such as Crown Casino. Winning the inaugural Country Music Guild of Australasia Talent Quest at the age of 17 gave Michelle the opportunity to record her first album of originally penned songs which received radio airplay on North West FM. Married at 22, Michelle’s focus shifted to family and to raising her two daughters who now provide a lot of her inspiration and support. More recently, finding she still had the passion and drive for singing and performing, she teamed up with some inspiring mentors and artists who are supporting her current journey in music.
Artist influences include Norah Jones, Adele, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Sara Bareilles, Brandi Carlile, Bonnie Raitt, Shania Twain, kg lang, Patsy Cline, Alicia Keys, Etta James and Eva Cassidy.
Michelle is currently working in both an acoustic duo alongside either Steve O’Hern or Tony Rendall as well as in a 5 piece band. She is also available to perform solo with backing tracks and state-of-the-art Bose L1 sound system.
