Steve Simmons
Steve Simmons studied a music & performing arts degree at WAAPA (Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts). By age 19, Steve was fronting the biggest band on the west coast and making regular TV appearances as both a singer and actor.
His band released an album that went to No 1 on the W.A. charts and Steve performed at many festivals including headlining in front of 12,000 people at Perth’s Burswood Superdome. Steve spent a short stint in the USA before a relocation to Sydney, and three years with an original act that released two albums and various singles throughout ten countries in Europe & Asia, selling over 10000 albums.
After that act split, Steve headed south to Melbourne, and formed and fronted Melbourne cover band ‘Pean,’ an outfit that performed over 3000 shows over eighteen years. At the same time Steve has performed thousands of acoustic shows and boasts one of the biggest song repertoires around, often challenging audiences to try and name an artist of which he can’t launch into a song! Steve’s acting credits include guest roles in TV shows like Neighbours, City Homicide, and Stingers, plus feature film roles & over twenty TV commercials. Credits in musical theatre include ‘RENT,’ ‘The Wedding Singer,’ and ‘High School Musical.’ Steve currently performs with his original band ‘Deep Creek Road,’ (4 top 40 Country singles), Foo Fighters tribute ‘The Faux Fighters,’ corporate band ‘Hit Nation,’ and wedding band ‘Three’s Company Trio.’
